| We begin the process by discussing your needs during our initial phone conversation. If you feel that Dreams to Designs can be beneficial, we set up an initial appointment at your home to walk through your property together. In preparation for our first meeting, it would be of great assistance to ask yourself a few questions. Please include your significant others and all members of your household in your discussions. Quite often the ideas for a landscape are as diverse as the people that will enjoy it. If possible, please have a copy of your survey/plot plan available. This may be found with your settlement papers. Please do not reduce or enlarge when copying, as these surveys are to scale and we need to take measurements directly from the copy. When we meet at your home for the first time, we'll walk the property together and discuss your needs and dreams as we look around. This is the most important time for you to relay your desires for your project. The designer may take notes and photos as you explain your vision. Depending on the detail required, a professional surveyor may be brought in to conduct more specialized analysis such as topographic plans. We can work with you to secure a plan or have a survey completed for you if you do not have one. It is important in this stage of the design to have an accurate base plan because all the subsequent plans are based upon the information gathered here. The next step involves compiling all of the information gathered at the first meeting and during the site analysis along with the designer's creativity to develop a conceptual plan. The preliminary plan will be created from this information and be presented to at a second meeting. Digital Design Example The second meeting is to review and finalize the plan. Upon successful revisions of the preliminary plan the final plan will be drafted. The final plan will consist of the plant list, construction notes and a detailed master plan. This will be the final product that you receive and can be used to perform the installation yourself, bid the job out to landscapers of your choice or we can help you arrange with local landscape craftsman to have the project installed true to design. |
